12 Volt Automotive Technician

Responsibilities

  • Install and troubleshoot remote car starters and vehicle alarms, auxiliary lights and other mobile electronics
  • Install, troubleshoot and customize wiring harnesses including installing fuses and power converters and building relays
  • Install standard bolt-on auto accessories as well as those requiring minor vehicle modifications
  • Use various computer systems to program automotive electronics
  • Learn on the job and continually add to vehicle and product knowledge
  • Perform effective product demos to customers
  • Identify "add-on" opportunities specific to the vehicles you handle
  • Communicate any problems or unexpected delays to counter staff
  • Work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions
  • Keep work environment safe, clean and organized
  • Treat your co-workers, customers, and every vehicle with respect

Qualifications

  • Valid driver's license
  • AT LEAST two years of 12 volt experience including remote starters
  • Some technical training preferred
  • Availability to work most Saturdays November through January and occasional Saturdays February through October (no evenings or Sundays)
  • Ability to work on a creeper or under a dash for long periods of time and lift up to 40 pounds
  • Must be people-friendly, responsible, respectful, clean and presentable
  • Have and maintain own tools
  • Experience and/or certification in forklift operation and safety, or willingness to learn
